AST 1569 is a former 275-gallon aboveground storage tank that served a standby generator at Building 1568. Investigations in 2009 did not identify signs of contamination, however, sampling in 2010 identified DRO and GRO in soil at concentrations exceeding cleanup levels. An interim removal action conducted in 2011 removed ~200 cubic yards of DRO- and GRO-contaminated soil. Excavation confirmation samples identified additional DRO and GRO contamination remains above method 2 cleanup levels at the excavation limits.
