Past Work on Site

In FY92, a 5,000-gallon diesel UST (52-A-17) was decommissioned at the former CAA Garage/Basketball Court Area. Approximately 35 cu. Yds of potentially fuel-affected soil were excavated from an area of approximately 684 sq. ft and stockpiled on a liner. Soil samples were collected from the stockpiled soil and detected EPH concentrations of 175 mg/kg. Groundwater was encountered above the top of the tank. The tank floated partially out of the ground after the concrete pad was removed. The groundwater had a visible fuel sheen and odor. During a FY92 release investigation (HLA May 20, 1993), a groundwater monitoring well was installed.
