Past Work on Site

Site has historic spills and is still a fuel storage facility. Two spills in 1994 and a spill in 1995 contaminated the soil and possibly the river. Site remains uncharacterized. Current capacity is 12,505 gallons bulk diesel storage. The tanks are located adjacent to the Innoko River. It is unknown what the current status of containment is at this site. As of November 2006 the city tanks are scheduled to be taken out of service during the upgrades to the Alaska Village Electric Cooperative (AVEC) powerplant and the city and corporation tank farms in 2007. Product entered river. Used 470 funds to: purchase used boom to control; fix truck to haul contaminated soil; and, purchase liner. Spill Nos: 94-251-168-1, 94-251-125-1, and 95-251-111-1
