Past Work on Site

Aviation gas contamination on property leased from ADOT&PF. Potential spill sources include on site fuel supply systems, heating oil, and aviation gasoline. A 1996 phase 2 environmental site assessment of Lot 5C block 100, found a 1000 gallon Diesel AST to be a likely spill source due to a soil sample DRO reading of 17,300 mg/kg at a sample depth of 15 inches. Lot 3A block 100, lot 2 block 100, and lot 2A block 300, show signs of historic avgas and heating oil spills with high levels of DRO and benzene contamination in soil samples between depths of 3 to 14 inches. After an ADEC review of the file in 2009, further work is recommended for the site. The areas of contaminated soil should be removed to the best extent practical and stockpiled and land farmed on site. Confirmation soil samples should be collected at the depths of the excavation to verify removal of contaminated soil. The water wells, a potable and a non-potable, located on and around the property should also be analyzed.
